Dead On Arrival

I used to keep a devlog, back when I was optimistic about things, at least to some degree. But my files were corrupted, my backups misplaced, and to add to it all, I woke up to find my mom dead on the floor. After three months of unpaid labor just to live in someone's house, I was robbed, betrayed, and left for dead. Now I struggle to survive day to day. My rheumatoid arthritis is so severe that every keystroke causes me pain. I can't drive, and must walk to the store and carry groceries, despite every joint in my body wanting to collapse under the weight. I fight just to keep myself and my environment clean. No one takes care of me. But I will continue to work on this convoluted nightmare of an RPG, simply because I have a desire to express myself and lack the skills to do anything better than this. This is my devlog. It might be my only devlog. But I'll work until I die. This game and my existence will fade into complete obscurity, most likely. And though I genuinely do not want to be known, I can't help feeling the urge to share stories and adventures with others (much of this inspired by my friends' characters during a long TTRPG adventure via Discord). I genuinely just want to make a game that I would have enjoyed, had I no knowledge of its contents. A long, and elaborate mystery, full of survival mechanics, memorable npc's, and difficult choices. Something to pass the time as I grow weaker. A world I could at least pretend mattered. If you're like me, maybe you'll have fun. I'm sorry it's not better.
